Bananamoon, a global beachwear and swimwear manufacturing company, announced this week that it sealed a lucrative plan to open ten new stores and several shop-in-shops in India. The plan is set to be realized by the year 2011.

The company currently operates in fifty-four countries and India will serve as country no. 55 after it entered into a lucrative 7-year partnership with Franchisee Indian Brand (FIB).

Nicolas Fouchet, Bananamoon Global Exports Manager, said that the Indian markets has a lot of potential and it is logical for them to set up stores that offer bikinis and other swimwear as well as shoes, accessories and other products.

Fouchet was present during the Franchisee Indian 2008 Summit to lay out the plans of the company. He said that FIB will be investing for the set-up of the stores but it will still be Bananamoon that has the authority on production and design of the goods.

Fouchet added that the company’s targets are India’s biggest cities such as Mumbai and New Delhi. Popular tourist spots such as Jaipur and Goa are also in their list. He said that the launch will feature separate choices and concepts for each line.

The partnership may become a full-scale venture if their business operations become successful, he revealed.
