Self Magazine
An American Idol alumnus has recently landed a cover gig for a popular magazine. Twenty seven year old Katharine McPhee is looking svelte on the cover of “Self” magazine. Phee, who also just landed a big starring role in the new hit TV show “Smash,” also showcased her sexy, svelte figure by wearing swimwear on one of the photos for the said magazine.

In an article published on the magazine, Phee shared how she stays in swimwear ready shape.

Twenty seven year old McPhee said that she arrives on set every morning at 6 a.m. ready to get in hair and makeup. But before she puts on her Marilyn Monroe wig, she eats a balanced breakfast of oatmeal and turkey bacon. McPhee’s dream breakfast? The “four cheese omelette, crispy turkey bacon, fresh OJ and wheat toast with butter and jam” from Todd English’s Ca Va.

She continues: At lunch, McPhee confesses she’d love to eat “crab cakes and fries” from Barneys, but usually has chicken and brussels sprouts.

To keep herself svelte, the young actress does a daily five-hour dance rehearsal. Despite a gruelling day, the actress – who lives with husband Nick in Manhattan – is thrilled about where life has taken her.

“I feel like a different person than I was after Idol. I get the celebrity game now – you can go from being hot to fighting to be seen,” she says. “You have to be aware of how superficial it is and that people who have written you off do eventually come back.”

And McPhee sends the message that hard work pays off. “I dreamed about this and now, because I had those dreams – and the drive – I’m actually here.”

Budgy Smuggler

Majority of the Australian women says budgie smugglers are a turn-off for them even if they might be able to swim faster wearing them.

A recent survey has found out that 82 per cent of Australian women are turned off by the male swimwear briefs.

However, Tony Van den Enden, Surf Life Saving Tasmania general manager has said any person who was gravely serious about performance in the water would wear budgie smugglers with no problem at all.

Mr Van den Enden said that their members who want to swim fast will wear budgies and in the majority competitions budgie smugglers will be favoured over boardshorts as they are not practical to move around or compete in.

Unfortunately those boardies were found to be the absolute favourite in the same survey that was commissioned by surf brand Quiksilver, showing that there are only 18 per cent of women admitting they still fint the once staple Aussie swimwear, the man-tog, appealing for them.

On the other hand, a third of Australian men said they still choose to be wearing their budgie smugglers for other reasons.

Beau Irvine, Quiksilver Australia marketing manager, has said that he had always thought men preferred to wear boardshorts than the budgie smugglers for another reason.

He said that it is time for those guys living in the dark ages to ditch their budgie smugglers and switch to boardies for them to attract a great deal of women also, if that is their aim.

This study has also indicated the metro-sexual interest group continues to develop, with Aussie blokes having become further fashion conscious.

There is a total of 53 per cent insisted board shorts design that is far more important than price, while a 71 per cent of those polled granted comfort was the mainly significant factor.

ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN is the brand which is celebrating their successful first year in the market of swim wear   by selling eco frie3ndly swim wear and had experienced the unexpected and overwhelming sales during the year.

Alex Waldman of ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN said that, what started to be a simple idea turned out to be an incredible brand with requests of an instant following by the unexpected supporters. It was a hole in the market that we saw and that we pounced into and that is a swimwear that is eco-friendly which is inspired by our care for mother nature and we have the advantage because of the technology that turns PET water bottles and old nylon textiles became viable.

Repreve is the name of the developer of the technology and is one of ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN’s partners which provides them the yarn made from both pre- and post-consumer recycled waste. The stylish and soft as they are sustainable swimwear that ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN produced are from the “first quality” recycled fibers available from Repreve, that have only recently become viable and making it possible for the company is the innovative technology.

United By Blue (UBB) is another ecofriendly brand of swimwear apparel that removes one pound of ocean and waterway trash for every single product of theirs that is sold and this brand is the second brand that ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN is partnering with and they have hosted two clean-up drives in Delaware River in 2011, removing three thousand pounds of trash from it.

ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN and UBB are thankful to their employees and the community volunteers who helped  and is so engaged for the success on the said clean-up drives especially making the two company’s culture to the next level. But most of all the ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN and UBB are greatly thankful to their customers who does not only want a nice swimwear but also wanted to save our planet which is the two company’s inspiration upon being kind to mother earth, Waldman said.
