Is there any possibility or is there such a thing as many attractive young women parading in front of you in their swimsuits? Reader, the answer is yes.
In July, John Kelly was one of the judges for the Miss District of Columbia Pageant, the winner of which represent the area on Saturday for the Miss America in Las Vegas. It was broadcasted at 9 p.m. on ABC.
Of course, this is an honor to be a judge, but it is also responsible. He added. Teri Galvez, Executive Director of the Miss d.c., remind us that the woman, we chose if all went well it should Miss America.
Talk about pressure. Miss America is the closest country to the priestesses Vesta, those carefully chosen women in ancient Rome who performed sacred rites to the protection of the Republic. The wrong choice can drop the gods upon us. It was a poor beauty contest that started the Trojan war, after all.
The fact is that Miss D.C. always has punched above its weight. The first Miss America, Margaret Gorman of 1921, represented the district. In 1944, Miss D.C. Venus Ramey won the Grand Prize. In the past five years, the district has had a Top 5 finalists and semi-finalists in two Top ten at Miss America. It isn’t bad for a place that it is not even a State.
Teri told us that they want a girl who’s ready to go and who is ready to hit the ground running.
There were 15 contestants who participated. And on the night of competition at Arena Stage, they paraded in stunning and dashing evening gowns, performed their talents
and answered questions. They were scored accordingly. Swimsuit competition was the toughest. Teri had told us we had to be brutal. She told us there wouldn’t be much time to mull our decisions.

Tourist centers in France bans tourists wearing swimwear, going shirtless
In a bid to reduce too much skin exposure in public areas, popular tourist spots in France are now implementing a ban on tourists roaming the areas wearing only their swimwear.
Shirtless male tourists will also be ushered out of the premises as well.
Perpignan, a popular destination located near the Spanish border, became the latest French city to implement the ruling. Violators will be issued fines if they refuse to cover up after being approached by the authorities. The implementation came after the city of Cavaillon in Provence successfully carried out this ruling earlier this year.
Locals in these French cities have long complained about the instances of tourists going around the area wearing skimpy swimwear.
In Perpignan, locals were surprised to see a group of male British rugby fans going shirtless around the streets.
