Former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins still has what it takes to impress the crowd as she walked down the catwalk at a recent fashion show in Brisbane.

According to reports, the beauty queen wore some of the best clothes offered by clothing retailer MYER during the store’s launch of its summer collections in Brisbane. On one occasions, she wore a sexy swimwear the immediately caught the attention of the audience.

Aside from Hawkins, there were plus-size models who strutted the store’s latest fashion line for the targeted demographic. The designs received appreciative applauses from the audience.

Another eye-catching moment at the fashion was the presence of male models who were also wearing skimpy and sexy swimwear. There were also models featuring 80s-inspired outfits and higher platform shoes.
Other stores participating in this star-studded fashion show include Cozi which is swimwear outfits designed and endorsed by Hawkins.

In an interview prior to the event, Hawkins revealed that she wears bikinis most of the time, especially during the summer and holidays. She added that sexy little dresses and flats go together whenever she goes out at night with friends and dates.

Internationally-renowned supermodel Elyse Taylor was in Sydney, Australia recently to open the second annual Sydney Fashion Festival. The Australian, which is currently based in New York, was seen walking down the catwalk with a trench-coat inspired dress created by Jayson Brunsdon.

Famous Australian personalities were seen at the audience area including Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice who revealed that this is the only event she can attend in the six-day festival because she needs to back in Brisbane.

In an interview Rice said that she had a blast at the recently concluded World Championships in Rome and is now enjoying her break. She added that this was her first time attending a fashion event.

There were a lot of new styles presented to the audiences that night including jackets adorned with sequins, halter neck dresses, swimwear and many more.

As for Taylor, she’ll be staying in the city for a while since she’ll be back to model the Seafolly swimwear line. She commented that Brunsdon’s creations were superb and that she’s looking forward to wear them in the future.

The Sydney Fashion Festival will have more than 15 events. Other designers scheduled to show their creations are Lisa Ho, Nicola Finetti and Wayne Cooper.

Now, this is an event one should not dare miss.

By February next year, Australian fashion designers will present their respective swimwear lines at the Sanctuary Cove in Queensland. The event will run for almost a week.Bikini fashion

According to Simon Lock, IMG Fashion Asia-Pacific Managing Director: “We are playing to the strength of the Australian swimwear and also to the strength of swimwear as a growth market around the world.”

“Even in these tough economic times, swimwear seems to still be buoyant,” he added.

The event dubbed as Australian Swim Fashion Week was said to be modeled over the successful swimwear fashion week that took place in Miami, Florida. The Australian event aims to encourage retailers to buy the swimwear lines and distribute it in major areas in the country and neighboring Asia-Pacific countries.

“Miami Swim has a great casual chic to it and that’s what we’re trying to do. The shows will only be on in the evenings, so during the day the buyers can do their appointments in a casual way,” Lock revealed.

Several high profile designers have already signed up for the event. Several resorts within the Asia-Pacific rim were considered by the organization decided that it’s best to hold it in Australia.
